Do you guys know if there is any way to remove the front belt guard mount without removing or loosening the rear wheel? I cannot get my T-45 torx socket and driver in the space between the belt and the swing arm.
As far as I remember I used a short torx bit and a wrench to turn the torx bit. It's pain in the S, give that a try!
I just did it this way last week. 1/4" boxed wrench on the bit and some downward pressure on ht top of the bit with my finger. Once the loctite is broken your home free.
I'm planning on going the torx bit in a wrench route, even easier would be torx bit in a ratcheting wrench.
What's holding me up is finding a damn t47 bit. I'm thinking the bolts are t47 and not t45. I started using my t45 but it is very loose and the bolts are pretty snug. I got scared of striping out the bolt head.
Okay...did this a month ago! I took the T45 bit and put it in a medium sized Vice Grip jaw(near the rear) and clamped the B-Jesus out of it! A little downward force and a healthy shove and SHAZAMM...out it came! My box end wrench was just too small to get the leverage needed! Anyway...it worked for me! My son had the bracket that holds just the belt guard and not the foot peg mount and that is what I put in its place! Now my FB is truely solo!
