FXD Custom Project
Here is what I started with....

Now it was ok "as is" but just not my style! So I preceded to strip it down and make it my own. The fenders were banged up pretty bad and the tank had a pretty good sized ding.I wanted the bike black! So I was thinking one night what if I had the rear fender and the tank lined with a spray on bed liner. I think everyone thought I was nuts! But I set my mind to do it. You dont have to wax it, worry about scratches, dings ect. It would be durable as hell! So I removed the rear fender and tank and took them to a local place that sprays Extreme lining. I think it turned out pretty well! I then took off the pipes (they were pretty mangled) and ordered some Vance & Hines Short shots. Also removed the stock chrome shocks and replaced them with some black Burly slammer shocks. Removed what was left of the rear turn signals and tail light. Replaced with Custom Chrome black turn signals. Also replaced all brake pads and polished the rotors. Sorry for the crummy cell phone pics!

I then ordered a black billet wide glide front end and some black powder coat t-bars....

After I mounted the bars with the stock speedo housing and a Accutronix Guage Mount Adapter I hated the look. With the speedo hanging way up in the air looked kinda goofy. So the t-bars came off. I then mocked up the new front wheel and fender...

I then decided on apes for the bars and went with a set of Khrome Werks 16" Fat Apes. Also ordered a chrome all in one handle bar clamp/speedo housing, black switch housings, new black control buttons with wiring, installed a new black powder coat dash trim to the tank and a Drag Specialties black 7 1/2" headlight. I used the stock risers. Also got a 16" cable kit from Burley. So this is where I am at now....

More progress pics to come.... Let me know what you think!!!
The prob with it, in my experience, is it's so rough, it's difficult to clean. Bug guts stick to it like freakin glue! & you can't use a rag to clean it. Just shreads the rag. Have to use a brush (I use toothbrush). The LineX in my pickup bed is even rougher.
I like it a lot, but would never coat very large pieces with it. Glad it works for you!
