I just put a call into metzler to see what they have to say about a mismatched set of tires. Hopefully I get a call back.

just fitted a 180 55 17 dunlop, with this profile could nearly put a 200 in, loads of room at the fender. ( ride single seat ).

Did you use the stock rim?

If you did, you have put a low profile tire on a rim that is to narrow and it is pulling the sidewalls in and IMO that is why you still have so much room.

That low a profile should be on a 5.5" rim, then it could be as wide as it is supposed to be.

But hey, to each his own.
