Cronk, I like the Bob Glide....you think it still works after I change the fender to the full length?
GreenSB, thanks!
I got the fender and filler plates ordered last week, hopefully I will have it in another week or two, I can't wait.
Yep I already call mine a "Fat Glide"... well mostly because living here in California being named Bob, if I called it a Road Bob, some might think I meant Road spelled "Rode" and get the completely wrong impression!
Can't be too careful you know!
Well that and the rear fender is from a Street Glide and Faring is from a Road Glide so the "Glide" part sorta fits.
Bob
I want to french in two 2" round lights along the bottom of each bag, but the budget is tight and I already have the LED strips. Nice things about the strips is that I can remove them or just leave them when I do have the cash to get the light to french them in, hopefully over the winter. I want to leave the fender smooth, so the strips on the plate frame will be all that is added to the fender and possibly removed when the bag get the round lights.
This looks awesome! Subscribing to see when you post new pics. If you don't mind me asking about how much do you think start to finish with only the necessities could a guy do this for? I like many others love my bob but would kill for a bagger...
Well I got the fender fitted last night after some cutting for clearences (belt, caliper and saddlebag support cross brace). If anyone was to go this route, I would suggest getting a (glass) fender no more than a .25" narrower then the struts. I went with the stock width at 8" and the fender does stretch like the steel stock one, just not as easily. I ust need to do some fine tuning on the cuts for apperrence, then I can start fitting the filler plates. Here are some pics. (I ended up going with a completely new fender and these pics were removed from my profile for space)

Wow! That looks great! The bags really look like they belong the way you have them notched! I've been thinking about doing something similar, and your project has given me lots of ideas! Keep up the great work!
