Ordered my 14 inch pist apes, what cables did you guys order?Everyone says magnum shielding, and thats cool, but I don't wana go guessing on which ones to get. +8___+10?? I don't know what all that means.
Put the Flying Apes on mine and used the Burley's. No issues.
I just installed my Pist Apes an hour ago. I told Carlini what bike I have and asked them directly what to get. They were very helpful and the bike looks great. I'll post pics tomorrow.
I installed mine yesterday too...and my lowering shocks. Here is a couple pics. Burley apparently does not make a brake line for DUAL disc...so they are out of the question... Has anyone measured the stock cables?I think I could get away with mine.....except the brake line.I think Ill just cut the line, and make my own.Thats all they do anyway.Because on the dual brake lines, that's all 1 piece and only where it hooks to the mastercylinder and the calipers is the only thing that comes off.
Doing the wiring right now on mine....couple pics. I don't know how everyone else done it, but this is how I done it, same concept as everyone else...Don't worry, I cleaned up the the splices before I heat shrinked them...
Well, 3 freakin hours later. . . ONE side is done! BUT, I'm going to redo it.I don't like how I ended up with to much freakin wiring at the bottom! Aint that a beech!!!SOO.. for those of you doing this with these bars,The wiring is a SOB! The inside of the bars apparently is NOT smooth, I could feel every wire hooking and scaping on I assume the welds inside there.but anyway, lesson learned.I think it's best to get the switches all spliced and then pull the wires from the top to the bottom.I did just the opposite. Once you put the housings on,the wires do not want to slide back down inside the bars.
For the ones who done the wiring in these bars...what's the best way to do this?

I'm thinking +8 on the clutch and upper brake line.Might could get away with the stock throttle cables...or so it seems.Top of motor is off so I cant get an accurate measurement on that.soI'm thinking +4 or so? What do you guys think?I just don't want a bunch of extra cable hanging evertwhere
HD diamond back cables bar none!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have used all the others and I will never go back. If I remember correctly I went plus 16 on cables but when I go out to the garage I will measure them to make sure because I have 14.5 apes.
