Pist ape owners in here....
Ordered my 14 inch pist apes, what cables did you guys order?Everyone says magnum shielding,and thats cool, but I don't wana go guessing on which ones to get. +8___+10?? I don't know what all that means.

+8 ,+10 is how many inch's the cable is over stock lenght , place blanket on tank, lay stock bars on blanket, mount new apes, roll up into the position you want them , take place of old extension cord or wire, follow the route of old cable , up to about where the controls will be ....pull out the wire and measure it ....!!! that should get you close ....

If you go with burly brand, get a size smaller than what you need. If you have 14s, get the 12 inch kit. I have 16 inch apes with the 16 inch kit and you can see in my signature picture that i have ALOT of slack.

I thought I read somewhere people were having issues out of them? Clutch cable not releasing smooth, throttle cable ends not fitting properly,having to file down the ends to fit it the housing..??? Might have been another brand so don't quote me on that..

Order magnum +8 throttle clutch and +10 brake for my 14 pist apes yesterday. I put the bars on when I got them then measure for my cable. I hate having my bike out of service but wasn't sure about cable length. I'll post picks next week when they get here.

Are you saying the cable broke in 2 weeks, or was it that the break-in took 2 weeks? Just put one on and haven't noticed any problems, so far.
