I love my Burly's. they ride a little stiffer, planted in the turns and have never bottomed 2up. Plus they look great.
The way I look at it, is a Harley doesn't handle no matter what you do to it (I come from a sportbike/motocross background) so might as well make it look cool.

Well put, people buy Harleys to look cool. If you want to buy a bike for great handling there are a lot of better choices. Not to say it's a bad thing to try and make the bike you like handle good though. I'm not too concerned with awesome handling on my Harley; I'll just hop on my Italian machine for that.
Yeah, Harley's don't handle, anyway, so why not make them worse?
lowering shocks don't really make the handling any "worse" per se, all they do is limit your lean angle, so I go a little slower in the turns, I can still double the posted speed in a turn so I'm happy.
If everyone left their Harley's alone and just hung some chrome and saddlebags off them then there wouldn't be much to talk about on the forums, right? To each their own, why knock on what someone chooses to do their scoot just because it's not a choice that you would've made.
Because yours looks cooler so he needs an excuse and that is "mine at least handles better". (Sorry could not help myself low blow I know.) I am fairly certain 90% of custom builds are for style and speed not so much with the performance. I lowered mine an 1" in the rear and its more of a matter of getting used to it than its "worse"
If we want to go down this road wht do we add things? Its added weight will make the bike slower, why go with a 2into2 pipe its not as good as a 2into1, why put on apes its less aerodynamic, blah blah
