Well, I just ordered one of these tonight... As soon as it comes in I'll give it a test mount and pack job to let ya know how much it'll hold... And maybe even a review...
I'm planning on using it for my road trips of ~600-900 miles. I'd like to pack 2 pair jeans, 2-3 shirts, 6 pair socks, 6 pair underware, pair of shoes, one towel and bathroom supplies. And maybe a book... Anything more will be a bonus
I'll let ya know... As for scuffing issues, I figure a micro fiber towel layed down under it will take care of that issue...
Ya you may have to lose one pair of jeans and use the hotel towel. The tunnel eats up most of the room inside. And that pad goes on top of the seat. It has a big Velcro patch on it to attach the bag to it plus straps. Then I run two straps around the upper shock mnts. to the forward d rings. Just to be safe.
Has anybody used one of these before? looking to add some storage for long rides but do not want to put saddle bags on my bike. this looks easy to install and remove, does not ruin the look of the bike when on, plus it is 2220 cubic inches of storage and includes a free rain bag.
I own the saddlemen version. Its the same bag by the pic. Dennis Kirk has them $102.00 .Two tunnel sizes offered 9" or 12". I use on my 11 Wg .I strap the mnt. to my back seat. Other wise yes it would chaf the paint. Great bag.
what size are you using ? I measured my seat and ordered the 9 inch tunnel hope I got right size
Look at just using a duffle bag on pillon seat with a piece of ply or Perspex in the bottom of it to stop sagging onto the fender
I made some soft loops to go around rear turn signals and fender strut covers then strap it all down with ratchet straps
Get a heap of gear in it, shoes whatever and with the ratchet straps you can just put other stuff on top like leathers, swag, or other bags and strap it on
