I don't mind telling you what I paid. My bike is a new 2012 from the dealer. It has ABS and Security and had like 40 miles on it when I threw a leg over it. I got it for $15,500.00 otd. I don't know how I did, it was the best I could get them to and I am happy with the bike. My dealer throws in a year in HOG, a year in the local chapter, and a card that gets you 10% off everything in the shop as long as you own the bike. With the card they guarantee to get your bike in for service anytime within 3 days. I don't know if any of that is a big deal or not, maybe everyone gets that?
Like I say, they were nice and pleasant to deal with and I love the bike. I got screwed worse at Disney!
the backrest rattle is throughout the HD line and has to do with the QD locks not being tight enough..
trick i found on here was the trim some electrical tape to the width of the rear mounts and put 1.5 to 2 winds of tape, it will tighten up the QD locks and the rattle will go away..
on your vibration did you have them do the TSB and then apply the clevis pin fix?
The service dept. did the TSB last year which seemed to help quite a bit but for some reason the vibes all came back after about 3-4 rides into this year. Now, I have a clang or something, sounds like it's coming from the front end, when I hit a bump or a slight rise in the pavement.
I tried the "clevis pin" after the vibes came back which didn't do anything and leads me to believe it's in the motor mounts, not the exhaust.
I tried the tape on the backrest mounts at for me at least, it only last a little while before they vibrate thru and start again. Same with the rubber tire strips, alto they last a lot longer.

Do yourself a favor, before you get too depressed. Find a new complete exhaust that you like and bolt it on. It is a whole different bike with a real exhaust system on it. It still has the "normal" dyna shakes at idle but rides like a caddy going down the rode. Also check the bolts that hold the tank on, some people reported they had loose bolts that made a clunking noise like you described.

Reason: forgot something.
Thanks for the suggestions. I haven't had time to really go over the bike to see if I can find anything loose that might be causing the noise or remove the back rest and see if that is what's banging.
As far as the exhaust, i really like the stock one especially the quieter sound and am too tight to buy an expensive one only to find out it still shakes like hell.

I had this clang klunk sound show up on mine . I figured the steering nut was loose . The problem turned out to be a loose bolt on the front of the tank. Could have sworn it was coming from the front end. tightend the front tank bolt and klunk disappeared . I got 8000 miles on my 2012 switchback and love it. added a d&d fatcat and stage one intake . Then bought a powervision tuner and it came alive.Awesome power and just got back froma 190 mile ride running 55 and 60 in 5th gear . I got 47.2 mpg
