Anyone out there have any good advise on the Dyna Switchback... What are you all's opinion of it?

I picked up a new 2012 last Saturday. I have a little over 400 miles on it now so take my opinion for what it is worth.

I love the bike. It handles very well and is very comfortable. I picked up a sissy bar, pad, and luggage rack yesterday so my wife and I rode together today and she said it was her favorite bike she has ridden on. There was plenty of room for us both to stretch out, nothing like the Yamaha bikes I had been riding before.

The bags are very easy to remove and get back on and it looks great with or without them.

I am only a week in so probably not the best guy to ask but I would buy mine again.

Good Luck!

I really like the look of the bike and the ability to be able to remove the bags and windshield at will...How much are the dealers asking for them?

My wife and I test rode the Switchback and the heritage softail classic. We couldn't stand the studs on the softail, and the switchback seat felt more comfortable for both of us. We also liked the fact that we found a near new switchback (6 months old and 500 miles on the clock) for $6500 off new price.

We've since changed the seat and I've realised that the screen is useless for me with my height (6'2"). The bags are lockable and easy to remove, but they are small.

I'm happy with the bike but if I was buying new, with a USA price list, the softail deluxe in two tone red/white would have been my choice. Then I would have added a touring seat and the bags to it.

There are plenty of reports of vibration issues with the switchback but it is an easy fix, don't let that put you off.

I wish I hadn't bought mine. The fixes for the vibration issue are a mixed bag and I've had more problems with mine than any other HD I had in a long time.

My Ole' Lady won't ride on it (maybe a good thing) because of the backrest rattling so much she says it makes her back itch intensely.

The power is good and handling is OK but the boards drag a little too easy.

the backrest rattle is throughout the HD line and has to do with the QD locks not being tight enough..

trick i found on here was the trim some electrical tape to the width of the rear mounts and put 1.5 to 2 winds of tape, it will tighten up the QD locks and the rattle will go away..

on your vibration did you have them do the TSB and then apply the clevis pin fix?
