Can someone give me some advice about the wide tire kit. If I'm not mistaken the stock size is 160mm, the kit lets you use a 180mm. What advantage is there with the wider tire besides looks, and what kind of price range would I be looking at? Thanks for your help.
But the kit is not needed if your upgrading to a 180 tire. It slaps right on. The only other question would be which brand. I'm going with the Metz 180/55/17...its a thinner tire but I'm looking to lower then backend along with 11" Progressives os it's perfect for what I'm doing. Hope that helps
well I guess what i mean is the actual tire size. Like you can look at a Donlup in the same size as a Metz but the Metz over all tire diamitor is "thinner/smaller" than the Dunlop. Therefore lower. Did I explain that right?..lol
180/55/17 That number means that that the tire is 180 mm wide, is 55% as tall as it is wide and fits on a 17 inch rim. The smaller that middle number is, the closer to the pavement the rim will be when the tire is mounted on the rim and inflated given the same width tire.
true but on this board we've found out that there are a few tires that bubble out in the middle causing a bigger appearance than others even though they're both 55's. Does htat make sense?..lol
