Progressive 970's ride like a dream. Lot of people like to talk chit about progressive, maybe some models justify it but I guarantee you won't be sorry with the 970 series.

Oops, just realized you didn't want longer shocks. 970's are 12.5". Your factory shocks are probably 12"

The 412 are the basic shock look alot like factory but they was a noticeable difference when I put them on my old bike. I would check out the 430 in black I think they look sweet. They cost a little more.

Check out the Progressive 440s. I got them from direct cycle parts. The have the best pricing I found anywhere. Better than stock and hand adjustable. Im running 11.5s on my Fat Bob

Thank you! I just called them and I ordered up the new 444's. They were great to deal with. Suggestion much appreciated.

you'll be stoked - i've had the 444s on my ride for a couple of weeks and I love them. I'm 155lbs and rarely ride two up!

The Progressive 444's are what I'm considering when I change my shocks. I've read a lot of good reviews about them. Let me know how you like the ride once you get them put on and if you can tell a noticeable difference. Also, check revzilla when comparing pricing. I've noticed them carrying more and more stuff for Harleys lately. I got my Michelin Commander II tires from them a couple weeks ago and went down to see the new showroom at the Philly Naval Yard last Friday.

My best friend actually works for Revzilla, thats where I got my exhaust from. Like you said, they are just recently getting into the Harley parts. Unfortunately they dont have everything yet, including the shocks, so I had to cheat and buy somewhere else. Revzilla is an awesome company to deal with though and when they get all the Harley parts in, they will be a force to be reckoned with.
