Got some flames for the Dyna.
Wide, I don't really know much about it. They gave me a care sheet. It listed the do's and dont's and said the work should last many years without fading, if properly cared for. When I asked the artist what the deal was and how long it should last, he said I should think of the paint job as something in-between a permanent and temporary tattoo. It will fade with time if you apply certain cleaning agents to it. You can feel the paint when you rub your fingers over it. It feels a bit tacky. One guy there told me he had his bike done four years ago and the work still looks good as new.
I am not supposed to:
--Wash the bike with soap for a week.
--Wax the bike for two weeks.
--Apply wax with cleaning agents--it won't strip the paint but can dull the paint stripes.
--Spill a lot of gas on the tank--it will strip the paint off over time.
He recommended I apply a couple of coats of Carnuba wax in two weeks to protect the paint finish.
The event was OK but I think I might have had higher expectations and that colored my opinion. There really wasn't much going on in the way of things I hear that take place at rallies. It was dead on Monday. Basically, just people sitting around at Mad River Harley drinking beer. Nothing wrong with that but I thought there would be bike shows and stuff like that. I just went off and road around the lakeshore and islands by myself. I was kind of bored in the evening, looking for something to do. I was thinking of hitting Cedar Point in the evening, but it was too expensive. Not paying $40 for a few hours.
