I have about 10,000 miles on my 2013 street bob. The other day I was riding home from work on the freeway going about 55 and the engine died, and then turned back on right away. It continued to do this the whole way home. When the engine died, the speedometer would go all the way down to 0 and then when the engine came back on the speedometer would go back to my cruising speed.
I don't think all the electronics went out when this happens, just the speedometer not registering and the engine cutting out. When I would pull the clutch in and the engine would die, it would not come back on without me restarting it, since I wasn't moving with it in gear.
I read a few things online and checked the battery terminal leads, I torqued both down, and it seemed fine for a day or two, but it did it again this morning on the way into work. Not as bad as the first time.
I'm going to take it into the shop Saturday, but thought I'd see if anyone has had this issue, and what the problem might be.

Thank you-
I'm also running a VH Fuelpak if that could be related at all...I've had it on the bike since about 1,000 miles to now (10,000 miles) w/ no problems.
I'd definitely pull the fuelpak and check those connections.
On another note: you're already at 10k?! Your commute must suck.
Good idea - I took my seat off and looked at the fuelpak while it was turned on to make sure it was reading properly and it was, but I didn't check the connectors yet. I'll do that today.
Yeah...My commute is about 30 miles round trip each day - all lane splitting because I'm in LA and traffic is horrible. Then on the weekends I usually ride around 100 miles for fun. I try to avoid driving a car as much as possible.
sounds stupid but my 07 wide glide did the same thing and all it took was a new battery in the key fob. before trying the key fob battery i replaced the relays and that did nothing to fix it. sure as **** 1 $3 battery later it runs like a champ. i keep a spare pack in the bags now lol
I can't seem to think of anything other than connections either... Definitely sounds electrical. Check closer, sometimes its staring at you right in the face.
And props on achieving 10k already. I bought mine last september and just rolled past 11k on mine. I didn't buy it too look fancy in the garage.
