So I got everything squared away finally and got the heat cycles done and then said it's time for a ride (plus run the smart tune)
holy ****! That hammer performance 98 in kit and the s&s 585 must have been made for eachother..... what a beautiful machine now! Other than some front exhaust side rocker box noise ( will pull cover tomorrow) that bike pulls from 2k like a train! I was expecting to get it to come alive at 28 or 29 but hot damn. I don't know what else to say but what a beast and that Thunderheader really likes the new build also. The sound the tone the power holy beejesus now I need to find some money for heads (or buy some cheap used heads) and really see what that engine can do
heads are only thing stock any more.... i need to find someone who does a kick *** job cheap or find some used on.... but that 98 and 585 are an amazing combo.... went sideways out fo the driveway not knowing what to expect
here is the least expensive way to go with your heads. http://www.bigboyzheadporting.com/showthread.php?p=17. I'm sure though that your not gonna pull it apart anytime soon. Too bad you didn't do it along with the big bore.Like vdop said have it tuned by a knowledgable tuner. Thats just as important as everythng else.
im looking forward to the first ride after my 106 build w/ mild headwork, just waiting on thinner head gaskets and then I could get her together in a few hours.
