Default New 98" build started

Decided to tear the bike down today and start my new engine build. Going to 98", and had Hillside do some heads for me. Got it tore apart this afternoon, but may wait til tomorrow to put it back together. The wife bought me a HF table lift for father's day, and it came in handy today. Got a dyno appointment in Florida with Doc next Monday. Looking forward to seeing how this new build runs.

Keep us updated. I'm wanting to build another one and am going back and forth between Hillside and TMan. From what I hear, you should have one great ride between Hillside and Doc.

Pistons, juggs, and heads went back on last night. Gonna try to finish up later today. Gotta get a drill bit to drill the rocker supports out before I can finish.

Put the bike back together last night, and fired it up. Rockers were a little noisy at idle, but everything else seemed fine. They were quieter before I tore it down, and I had them adjusted the same as now. May try adjusting the pushrods again after I take it out and seat the rings later today. Only ran it for a few minutes last night then shut it down. Looking forward to the short ride today after I load another map into it.

I loaded the map that Fuelmoto sent me. They told me it was the closest they had to my combo. The bike ran like a dog. Didn't run near as well as it did before the changes. I put 15 miles on it and parked it to cool down. I'll put another 15 or so on it later, then park it until the Dyno tune on Monday. Gonna try adjusting the pushrods again this afternoon as well, as it was noisy as hell at idle once it got hot. I've already got them at 3.5 turns, so I can't go much further on them. Not sure why it's so loud now, when it wasn't before. I've also got a barnett clutch spring that I was gonna install, but now I'm wondering if I'm gonna even need it.

Installed the Barnett clutch spring today. That ain't gonna last very long. Superman would get tired of pulling the clutch with that in it. Gonna go with a VPC soon, after feeling one on another bike.

Readjusted the push rods again too. I'm at 4 full turns now, and it made no difference. Still noisy. Not sure where to proceed with that.

Did a compression check to see how things were doing so far. 185 both cylinders.

Put a new set of plugs in it today, and went for the final run before the dyno tune.
15 miles and here's what they look like.

Even though I know the map is off, I can't believe how crappy this thing runs. The dyno tune is gonna have to make a HUGE difference. This thing is a cow right now.

Did you ask Hillside what was possibly wrong?

Hope the dyno tuner takes the bike for a ride before trying to tune it. He may conclude that the engine isn't healthy and shouldn't be dynoed with engine issues if there are any.

Riding the bike, you can tell the tune is way off. There's flat spots every where. Other than the rocker noise, there's nothing wrong with the motor itself, imo. We'll find out for sure in a few days.........

It sure seems like you know what you're doing so please take no offense to this question. Why are you taking the pushrods out that far?
