From some of the posts I have read, if the fuel level in the tank is low, you can look inside the tank and if you see gas shooting around or hear it hitting the side walls of the tank then the line is bad and will need to be replaced. Some people have replaced the line with an after market one that the got at the local auto supply house. Do a search for it to get further info on the fix.
Having similar issue but seems mine is an intermitent no spark condition. Havent been able to pull codes and as of yet havent got stranded, so any ideas on that one would be nice. I'm thinking system relay.
Checked the codes today and po131 and po151 comes up, but nightrider says that will happen. While checking out other posts i discovered a lot of guys with circuit breaker probs. I cant find anything in my shop manual on main circuit breaker or location.
Well guys we done the complete check on the bike, including checking for codes cleaning the throttle body etc. When i took her off the ramp same thing no power to fuel pump replaced with a spare and she has been running good all weekend. Tks to all the guys out there who gave me any advice.
Tks agn guys, sounds like it could be the FPR. I to have been hearing the whine or whistle of late. My hearing isnt very good so I can barely hear it. Let me know how you make out there bdtaylor1979. I will do likewise.
The dealer ended up replacing the whole fuel pump assembly and it seemed to be fine. But last Friday when I left for work and when I got off work it was really hard to start and once started it would act like it was wanted to die and actually died a couple times until it warmed up. Yesterday it started running worse and it runs like crap when you come to a stop at a stoplight. When you come to a stop it will start running rough, spit/sputter some, the idle will drop and it sounds like its running on one cylinder. It pops a lot more on decel. The battery and connections are good. I tried disconnecting the fuelpak and xieds and no change. I looked at v&h's website and there isn't a newer map for the fuelpak. I don't know what it could be. The dealer thinks it might be something going on with an o2 sensor or the ecu.
Just started to have similar issues last week. Runs very rough and dies at idle. Also, the center console speedo and mileage indicator dont light up. I jiggle the fuel connector to the tank and then it starts up again. The mechanic seems to think its a bad connector which would make sense. Will need to bring it back in and have them take it apart.

Yeah, I'm going to drop mine off Tuesday since the dealer just replaced the fuel pump 9 days ago.
When my 08 FXDL was a few months old engine would shut off but electrical still good.
Dealer couldn't find anything wrong. I said it was just like I had hit the kill switch... so they replaced the start-run switch and hasn't been a problem since.
