3 connector tender lead
I'm no mechanic or electrical engineer but this statement makes me warry of connecting a charger @ > than 5 amps.
The documentation for my Battery Tender Plus states that if the battery has < 3 volts it will not charge it(blinking red light). So I guess my battery was not completely dead. It also gives me the impression that the product is capable of charging, albeit slowly, my severely drained battery.
I just checked my battery which is now @ 12 volts, from 6 volts eight hours earlier.
Again, thanks for the combined wisdom.
Whatever, I am just telling you what you need to do for it to kick off the plates again. A battery tender will not do the job.

. HEH! Well, My tender is now flashing green which indicates 80% charge on battery. I'm going to leave it on until solid green; 100 - 103% charge. New question - Before attempting to charge the battery I tried to test for electrical draw with my volt ohms meter. I left the positive terminal connect to the battery, disconected the negative terminal and used my meter probes to close the circuit between the negative battery post and the ground. I had my meter switched to the 10amp DC setting. While the bikes switch was in the OFF position it was pulling less than .01 amps. But I find this to be suspect because the little red electrical led on the speedo would not light when closing the circuit with probes - but did light with negative battery terminal connected.
There a better way to test for draw? What am I doing wrong?
Thanks again!
