Got an 02 RK, and have the palm paddle on it. I suppose the star lock would work, but you need to live in those areas where you can watch your dog run away for 3 days before it'll keep your speed consistent.
FYI -us flatlandersprefer the phrase "stand on a tuna can and see the back of your head"
Have you seen this new cruise that Kuryakyn is supposed to release this summer? It looks pretty cool.

On a long haul on the interstate I usually set the throttle where it will hold at about seventy five and lean back and relax, speed may vary by five miles up or down depending on the incline or decline and it only takes a second to adjust your speed withthe throttle when you've got the tension set right to where you can move the throttle without re-adjusting the tension.
Good Luck

Unfortunately, they do not work very consistently. That is my experience. I don't think they have changed the design ever. I feel they are dangerous, but that is my opinion.

Couldn't agree more! Inconsistant, hard to adjust and more of a PITA than they're worth.
I've got one of those little levers that attaches to the thumb wheel. I did turn the lever away from the grip, found it got in the way when I was twisting the throttle.Makes it a little easier to adjust the friction. Keep mine set to where it will hold at mid throttle but will release with just the tiniest nudge. Leave it that way all the time now that I've gotten used to it. Doesn't work like a cruise contro of course but it will hold your throttle at a set position which is great if you want to take your hand off the handle bar for a little while. Also use one of those throttle bosses so even when I don't use the friction lever most of the work is done by the heel of your hand instead of the grip of you fingers.

I also adjust mine so that it will hold the throttle close to the speed I set it at, and am still able to bump it up or down as the case may be.
It was only 12 bux, and you can't ask phor more phor 12 bux.
Plus you can use any grips you want
