Cam cover
I just changed out my polished alluminum cam cover on my 04 FXD...to a chrome one. Did i skrew anything up? know that changing out ones on older bikes and evo can be tricky..what about the v-cams? thanks...

Pretty hard for me to answer your question. Do you think you screwed anything up?
It is an easy swap - use a new gasket, and apply loctite 262 and apply the correct torque. I would suggest you clean out the bottom two cam cover holes before putting the bolts back in. They have a tendency of collecting the oil from the cam cover, so that when you put the bolts back in, the loctite will do you no good because the bolt threads are now covered in oil.

When I replaced my stocker for a chrome one a year or so ago it was a straight forward bolt on, new gasket, torque the bolts in sequence in the manual and I was done. It was less than a 1/2 hr. job. Just follow the directions in the service manual, clean the bolts and mating surfaces good for the new gasket and you should have no problems.
