Tried searching for this and went through the long PV-sticky thread but couldnt find anything related to my question, sorry if this has been covered before..
On your PV with a tune provided from FM/Jamie did you guys update your PV with the WinPV update client first or do you just flash the bike with the FM provided tune?
Wanted to make sure that if I do the update to the PV that my FM provided tune isnt over-written prior to flashing the bike...
If you really want to be sure, you can flash the FM tune to your ECM, then bring the PV in and hook it up to your comp and send it to WINPV,make a copy then update the copy and then compare the two. there wont be any changes but there may be some added tune items.I believe they recommend update client first then update tune useing PV... maybe a bassakwards approach but thats just me.
Don't worry when I got my PV there weren't any updates to be had. however from a from a practical standpoint, you may as well get all the latest updates first with PVUpdate client; just keep updating until the firmware, software and tune database is fully up to date, then update your tune with winpv and you will then only need to flash the tune once... it will be useless to flash the ecm with a quasi-obsolete tune. Don't get me wrong Jamie's tune will still work fine, but without all the available parameters.

I didn't update anything because my main computer is an iMac. To get updates and such it must be done on a WIndows PC.
The PV came loaded with 4 or 5 preloaded flash programs.
1) Improved stock
2) Stage 1 type air cleaner, stock exhaust
3) Stage 1 type air cleaner, + free flow dual pipes
4) Stage 1 type air cleaner, + 2-1 free flow pipes
and maybe another.
Those preloads cover a lot of applications and then you can tweek till the cows come home. I'm thinking most PVs go out with these type preloads unless you specify more extensive engine work.
