I reacently just crossed over to harley and bout my brand new 2013 street bob 103. I am an experience rider just new to harley. I have searched through alot of threads on here and i guess my main two questions that i am still unsure about is will a 2012 exhaust work on my 13 i have seen different opinions about o2 sensor sizes. Main reason asking i realy like sideshots but everywhere i look says they dont make them for 13 models also i know nothing of efi tuners whats good and bad i just want a basic one dont care as much about power as much as which one will work and overall increase engine life any recommendations would be appreciated thanks.
Call Vance and Hines about the exhaust. As for a tuner call FuelMoto they will be honest with you and help you get what you need. They may beable to tell you if the Sideshots will work.
The O2 sensors changed between 11 and 12, not sure if they changed again for 13. A quick call to V&H should get you a definite answer.
I second contacting Fuel Moto for your EFI needs. You can either go with a power commander or the newer power vision unit and Fuel Moto will offer you lifetime support.
Personally while the PV is a few hundred more than the PCV I think the benefits are worth it. Ability to do an "autotune" and you don't have to actually leave anything attached to your bike.
That pv sounds pretty awesome i am a big fan of not having to leave anythin on the bike. I will give vance and hines a call. I read on a thread that they make an adapter for the o2 sensor due to the size change will have to do slme searching and check that out. Fuel moto is definately highly recommended on here thanks for your help once i get some work done i will post some pics excited to hear this motor not being choked to death and i love the harley ride much appreciated
Congrats on the bike. Get some pics up when you can.
The exhaust is no different from '12 to '13. As mentioned, the bung size changed between '11 and '12. The '13 is exactly the same as the '12.
Good advice about calling Fuel Moto. They know what they are doing. My only addition is this. Avoid the piggyback style tuners simply because it adds another point of potential failure.
For those using piggyback style tuners, don't get me wrong. I used Power Commanders for years on race and street bikes without any problems. They are just outdated compared to tuners that actually change your map.
And any V&H exhaust that fits a 2012 FXDB will fit yours. I have V&H on my 2013.
The only issue will be if you buy something that requires the passenger peg spacer, like the Big Radius 2-1, which will be a problem if you have ABS. It hits the ABS mount bracket just above the right side foot peg mount. Wife won't ride on back, so it wasn't a problem for me to go without passenger pegs.
I went with sideshots on my 13 bob. They were only supposed to fit 11 or older due to the o2 sensors, but other than that the mount the same. I went with the micro tuner from fuel moto, and it has performed flawlessly. The micro takes the o2s out of the equation and u install bungs so u can use almost anny exhaust u want.
Thanks for the input! If i can take the o2's out of the question and get sideshots that is probably what i will do as long as the micro tuner is good to go. Going on a cruise this next week then hopefuly have it all done within the next two weeks after and get some pics up. Excited to do some more research and get started thanks for all the advice this forum realy is a great source of information!
