cable lube..... would slip 2000 work?

Hi all. Just wondering for those that own firearms, would slip 2000 work as a cable lube? It keeps my rifles and shotguns lubed even in very hot operating temp conditions.

Thoughts?

My guess is that it's a little too thick.

I like it for my firearms, but I use the Harley lube on the bike. A 5 dollar syringe of it goes a long ways.

Tri-Flow is the best lube I have found for just about every light job, including cables. And it smells like bannanas!

Thanks for the replies guys! Had a big bottle of Slip just sittin there, figured Id see if it was multi use! Ill check out some of the options you guys mentioned.
