I can't tell for sure. Are te fork lowers chrome or just standard?
The reason I ask is that a black-motor H-D1 bike should have black lowers. If they're chrome, that's another $500 upgrade.

Another thing is this, when the black motor and candy paint is ordered through H-D1, the system requires that the 103" package is included. I find it odd that a Hard Candy Big Flake red bike with a black motor only has 96".

I think the tins and fork lowers were switched with another bike. This isn't a problem, but it indicates to me that the dealer will take a lower price for this bike.

Considering the upgrades, a price of $13k is a decent deal. Anything less is a good deal. Six months ago that bike would have been $15k with these mods. Being the new models are coming soon, and this bike might be a piece-together, I think you could get a good deal.
For a brief time last year you could get the color option without the 103. So this bike has probably been in the dealer's inventory since at least December.

That explains it. I still question the non-black lowers unless they are chrome upgrades.

Either way, he should be ale to get a deal on this bike.

Two calls and an email to the dealer. Still no numbers. This isn't starting out good.

I think you should visit the H-D1 bike builder site and get an idea for the price. You can add those same features except the bars and risers. I'll bet you come out far less than $18,600.

Make sure to select:
Street Bob $12,999
Big Red Flake paint $750
Black 103" motor $350
SE slip-ons (unless you plan on aftermarket pipes) ???
The white spring seat and mounting kit roughly $550
Forward controls $180.

The whole H-D1 bike is around $15k. The bars, risers, grips and cables/hoses are about $750 + labor (maybe 6 hours at $75 per hour or $450.)

The whole package is still less than $16k retail. I wouldn't pay a dime more unless they throw in some serious incentives.

Yeah that red goes great with the black parts.
Only the white seat looks out of place.

I think the spring seats look out of place on a dyna (rear shocks). Supposed to copy an old school rigid IMO.

Thanks for the builder page. I knew something didn't seem right about that deal.

Supposedly, the dealer's don't make anything on the HD-1 bikes except their prep fee and labor for the add ons. I printed out my HD-1 order and walked into the dealership with it. The only negotiation was on the cost of their labor to install the accessories I wanted. HD-1 will show you which accessories are from the factory, i.e. no labor charge, and which are dealer installed.

If it's in your budget, I highly recommend using HD-1 and adding mags (non-laced) wheels, unless you just like spokes. It's much cheaper having it done through HD-1 than it is coming back later to buy new wheels. AND anything you add at purchase is covered by the 2 year factory warranty.

You can also request the take off stock parts when you take delivery if you want them. You're paying for them anyway.
