I just got back from being drenched. I joined a local HOG ride to a lunch destination in South Carolina, about 2.5 hours each way through some really nice B road.
On the way back, the clouds started dumping on us. The gang stopped for their rain gear.
Me? I left the house with nothing but the shirt on my back and the tool God gave me.
As it happens, all three of the bagger boys had EXTRA rain jackets. One of them even had extra rain pants.
I politely declined, but paid for it with a good soaking.
I guess you just take what's given to you in this life.
Your son just pulled your man card. . . . A proud day for a father but, better hang your head low, don't look him in the eye. . .you'll have to earn that back. Haha
I live on the north side of Atlanta. I think the last month has completely worn out my rain gear. Dry shoes and boots are a distant memory. But it still beats driving a car.
Just made the trip home from the Outer Banks NC, to Indiana. We rode thru pouring rain with cars pulled off the highway.
I have been noting alot of this lately. Lots of cars pulled off and bunches of them riding with flashers on. The view through my shield (or goggles sometimes) must be way better that those huge windshields with wipers.
The story remains the same.
Even here in CT last week was horrible with rain pouring and streets flooding.
I was riding through almost a foot of water.
Pouring mad, the bike ran flawless without skipping a beat.
If I knew the roads were going to be so flooded I would of just called the misses and left the bike at work but I made it.
With the misses with you , you made the right move.
I think you made the right call! One thing if you are by yourself but no shame in taking a passenger into consideration. I would have done the same if I had a passenger. The rain here in NC has been hammering us lately! Ok..reread your original post...you rode on two seperate bikes?

Meh, depending on the storm, I usually dont mind the rain. A lot of my favorite rides were actually in the rain. Its kind of intense, and just a little more dangerous is all...
