about to order some new shocks and wanted to double check on the model/size.
Are most people running 11" progressive 412s? if so, are they model #412-4045B.... that is the model I got from the website, but want to double check before buying.
thanks for helping a newb out. first bike and I like doing the work myself... gives me that warm fuzzy feeling inside... or maybe that's the beer.
Lol- that's why I was asking about suspension travel... According to a recent post, the bobshave about 4" of unsprung travelfrom the wheel centre. I'm going to measure this this weekend, actually- while I'm test fitting a fender I'm going to paint (the old magic marker trick).
The reason I want to know is so I know how to best chop the fender, if at all.
So, 412 Progressive question: How's the ride with the 11" HDs? Ever bottom out?
You need to measure between the left side front of the rear fender and the belt guard thats where itusually hits, Not the tire clearance.. Maybe this pic will help
OK - guess I've been reading too many posts lately and am getting confused. I recently purchased the 412 11" Standard shocks in black for my Bobstah based on some things I read here and elsewhere, but haven't installed them yet. I fluctuate slightly right around 195lbs and plan on riding solo all the time and occasionally will be carrying some small Willie & Max saddle bags with clothes, tools, etc and a pack & sleeping bag on the Motherwell rack. So suspect this all might add another 5-10 lbs.
Will the standards work and give me enough clearance being 1" lower and what setting would you recommend? Or is there a real advantage to the HDs without much loss in comfort (I probably can send the Standards back for exchange)?
Sorry if this has been covered before, but I seem not to be able to find a definitive answer or concensus to this. Thanks.
