Harley's mid controls are still a "bit forward" compared to japanese or european bikes. At 5' 6" my guess is the mid controls with highway pegs with do it for ya. If I purchase a new Bob that is the setup I will go with and i'm 5' 11 1/2", 56 years old. I have had bikes with both mid and forward and find i'm good to go either way. Actually I have forwards on my bike now and removed the heal shifter so I can hang feet off the back of the floorboards a good part of the time. If you live in an area with back roads with nice twisties mid controls are much better. One is better balanced with your feet being under you. I never saw a race bike with forward controls.
As for the 15,000 mi bearing replacement, that does create a rather large hmmmmmm.............but I think i'm still buying one.
$15662 out the door as San Diego Harley, San Diego Ca. That is with the alarm & Black Denim. You guys know we have to pay that " Year Round Riding " tax out here in Cali ( lol ).
The dealerships are hurting now, at least in my area. So don't pay anything over MSRP. You could probably get a bike under MSRP. Come down to chicago and I'm sure I can get you a deal.
As usual everything in SC is @$$ backwards. No wonder the stealer in G'ville isn't selling anything. I don't think you can get one of those there for less than $16,990 incl. ttl. (after a $1000 winter disc.).
here in germany i have to pay 13800 Euro (about 15.600 $) for a street bob vivid black including forward pegs and a kit to load the batterie inside the bike.
the trader takes my 6 years old honda shadow by payment.
Dynamite, call Doug's HD in Florence. Got mine there right at MSRP. I was talking to them the other day and are scheduled to get some more in soon, a black denim one too I believe.
Im in Afghanistan now, thinking about gettin a black denim Bob, got a quote from AAFES 14,339 with 5 yr ext warranty, only I have to add is tags, and taxes. I wonder if finace with HD is a good deal. Im going back to Ft Bragg, NC next spring, anyone having a similiar deal around NC/SC?
