Ah I did not realize that the TCFI would run closed loop. That is a HUGE difference than the PC III then. I have 200 miles on my PC III now and I like it a lot, but I am still curious how I will run at higher elevations.
Your bike should run fine at elevation, it uses a barometric pressure sensor so it should compensate for elevation fine.
First note is that there software does not automaticly find there preloaded maps, one needs tofind it and have it upload. Once you do that it recalls the folder and keeps going there so you can save and restoremaps. I loaded up a premap they had and then put the info in that my bike has injector size, vss freq etc. I loaded up the base stuff and had it idleing. Little bit of tweaking to get the BLM percentage in a good range but easy enough. Of course I need to ride to get the BLM's correct throughout the map. Not much else I can do till weather is better here. I also have some more to learn on there software and how to implement some things. I should note I have the 8 deg injectors and in the instructions it says they will not work. I figure I will work with them and find out why. I also wrote my dealer about possible injector swap due to the TSB on them, hopefully find out there responce soon.
I did a Zannoti part search and odd thing is the SE injectors were less then the new OE injectors. Anyone know if they are a direct swap fitment wise or is the SE throttle body injector ports different?
Thanks Parakiller, and I will keep updateing my experience on this post.
Well snow is mostly gone and roads mostly cleaned up. So fired it up and took it for it's first ride with the TCFI 2 installed. Works great, had no stalls, sputs or anything else but a good running bike. I need to dowload the info from the ECM yet to check BLM tables and apply them but this thing rocks. Install was reasonable and the software is easy enough. I highly recomend this sytem.
Now I need to clean the bike, replace the rear tire and install the oil cooler I purchased.
I will add my experience as things happen, to this post. When I change components that affect the engine I will add my experiences here too.
JOSH, Thanks for the great post! I was thinking about thundermax, not so sure now. What was full cost?
I ordered straight from Daytona Twin Tech so it was $850. Kit is complete accept the zip ties I used. I have no experience with the T-max. But from reading peoples posts, it would install very similar to the DTT that I purchased. I think either choice would be a good choice.
Any reason why I can't see the images in this thread?
Thanks for any help!
It is an old thread and there were server issues since then...lots of pics were lost in a lot of older threads unless they were posted from another site.
