What's the best way to go about adding mid pegs and brackets. I was considering getting mid brackets and putting the front pegs there. Then getting something nicer for the front. Are there aftermarket brackets. My bike does have a place to bolt the brackets. Was thinking they would be nice for long rides as someone mentioned on another post.

Did this exact thing tonight...Got a new set of brackets and used my stock pegs. I have the DK custom Steath Bear traps up front...
I tired the mid controls (peg only) kept getting in my way when they were down.
Tried several different types including some mini type I made. Still did not like em.
Some like em and some don't.
I ended up making these and I like the way I can move my feet some.

Take-offs do come up on ebay all of the time, for cheap.
For this exact reason I leave mine as just the brackets with no pegs, unless I am going on a several hundred mile trip.
Even as just the brackets, I can rest my heel on the bracket, and the front of my foot on the front foot peg. It's pretty comfy, and the front peg keeps my foot from tipping over. Of course, you need big feet for that.
yes you can find em low cost. I paid $30 for the complete mid controls. Everything came with them except the brake pedal spring lock. it was local so there were no shipping or tax.
I left the bracket on for a while. Had to make a stand off for the right side as my brake rod was in the way for the forward controls.
Some like em some don't.
I guess I'll wait for a better deal. I'm not in a hurry. Was hoping I can make it so the pegs can be placed up so they're not in the way when not needed. I tightened my passenger pegs so they will stay up.
