SE 203 cams my review
Well finally got my bike back after a complete rebuild due to a bad inner cam bearing, when they priced out the build the SE203 cams were cheaper than stock ones, so told them to install it with new hyd tensioners and SE oil pump and SE inner cam bearings. I have never owned a bike with cams so this is truly my first impression. Bike is stage one 2002 carb 88ci
First thing I noticed was the sound was deeper and the idle a little more lumpy, throttle action was crisper, actually kinda like the idle and sound. Had to wait for the engine break in but that is now behind me. What I did notice is the increase in torque off the line all the way to midrange , passing at freeway speeds is better also up to 70mph but have not gone faster, have not really opened it up yet. Now when I ride 2 up it feels and pulls like when I rode solo with stock cams, climbing hills requires less downshifting. Overall I am pleased with these cams, I know there are stronger cams out there but this one does what I want and still gets good fuel economy.
