Default Carb Adjustments

I bought a 1997 FXDS with Stage I and open drag pipes about a week ago........it's a little sluggish and loud as hell! I ordered a Supermeg, and it's due to be delivered Tuesday. I assume the bike was properly jetted (or at least rejetted) with the Stage I, but was wondering what jets I should be running? From what I understand, the Supertrapp instructions provide some guidelines on the number of discs to add based on modification, but I figure the jets will need to be correct for this to be accurate.

Thanks!

On my former bike ('90 FXR 80" EVO with T-header and OEM CV carb) I ran a #45 slow jet with a #180 main jet, an N65C needle with a spacer washer. The motor ran crisp and clean, spark plugs always tan in color.

Every motor/carb/pipe is different and will take some trial and error to get it dialed in correctly. Make sure your intake manifold gaskets are not leaking, as tuning is impossible if you have a vacuum leak. Hope that helps a little.
