Thanks for posting this ND! Given my skill set and the info I got from you and Blueangel I may be looking at a set of the Dyna hard bags, maybe even some of the knock offs;-)

It's from Tsuyaku. I had seen another forum article here that said how good they were and I'd thought I'd give 'em a try. It worked out to be cheaper than others I looked at because it comes with the quick release mounts. If you get it with the radio and speakers, all you have to do is bolt it on and hook up the power wires. The only thing I wish was different is if they had primed it black instead of grey. I took mine apart and primed it black until i get a chance to mod my fenders and paint it all.

Been awhile since an update. Working on the fenders now, changing handlebars (again) to Bonanza II 13"apes, and trying to decide what to powder black and what to paint.

I bought a repro Loboy fender from J&P, cut off the brackets, took the sides off (they were spot welded to the inside and it left an open seam on the outside) and rewelded them to the outside of the fender, making it wider and filling in the seam. Then I welded reinforcements to the inside of the fender and welded mounting bungs through the fender to the reinforcements. Now the fender sits tight to the tire, but not too tight. For the rear fender I took a Fat Bob fender and cut the bottom half off and welded it to the bottom of the stock StreetBob fender to make it match the front fender and the hard bags.
I welcome any opinions on what to powder black (trees, lowers, A/C cover, floorboards, wheels, pipes etc), whether or not I should stick with the 7" bullet style headlight or go to a 5 3/4" black bullet headlight.
I plan on painting it Hard Candy black (black with large metal flake) and some sort of graphics. The hardest part is coming up with a paint scheme.

with the original fender in full bagger form:

I have removed the driving lights and front turn signals, and plan on running LED's on the front and rear and frenching in the tag.
A must is having it look good when stripped down (without fairing, bags and running a solo seat).

Any suggestions welcome.

Looking good ND. And a nice pair of F-Bodies in the background too, is that your shop?

Yes, it is my home away from home, lol. The 70 Camaro is my old street legal drag car, that i am going to make into a cruiser(Fi, auto/overdrive, AC power windows etc.) The 72 belongs to a buddy of mine, we are getting the body right and in paint then he is going o drop a built 496 stroker in. Most of the sheet metal is new, but still has to be massaged to get right. We do mostly collision work but we will semi-restore a few.
