I say go for it! I'm of similar size and weight as you are and after three months on my FXDF, it still surprises me with it's torque and maneuverability. Long range comfort was good with the stock seat (requiring a pause after 3 hours) and is better with the H. D. Touring seat (no pause, much better for the pillion rider). Lean angle is better than on the Softails, but I've scraped the end pipe coming out of a right corner. Mostly, it's the heel of my boots on the pegs that gets lifted a bit when I lean too far, and that's undramatic. Compared to your Sportster, it has a gas tank that doesn't make you look for a filling station every second hour.

I bought my 09 fatbob back in Nov. and love it. There is no comparison to other bikes I've owned. The only thing I will change for comfort is to install pullback risers.

I'm 6'2 245 and have no issues at all. I have rode 400 miles in a day and love it. I did get a smaller air breather because my knee was rubbing the stock one.

I passed on the Fat Bob. It does not look like a Harley - it looks more like a sport bike. That being said, if you want that style bike then I'd go for a non-Harley ... the premium that you'd pay for the Harley brand will go a long way on a real sport bike. If you take a test ride of a FB, take note of the riding position. Some feel there is too much stretch to the forwards and you will soon be looking for some place else to put your feet... and the long reach to the handlebars. If you are ok with all that - go for it.

I've had mine for almost a year and half I am 5'11" 250 lbs and have no problem with the bike.. The most I have rode it for has been 350 mi . The ride was great and like most people say it is a great handling bike! The only thing I would have to say is after a while the handle bars got to me.. One of the reasons I bought the fat bob was the look of the drag bars.. But after riding with them for a year I changed them out. After long rides my back would start to hurt.. The bars I have on now are perfect for me!! Of you buy a fat bob you won't be disappointed !! Hope this helps!

Albeit a sports bike with the rider rotated back 30 degrees. I have no problem with a Harley pulling like a sports bike!

I dont think it looks at all like a "sports bike".

I think it looks great.

6'2 270. Loving my fatbob

Also swapped the air cleaner for a dk587 so it wouldnt rub my knee.
Mids with highway pegs.
The seats decent. I keep thinking about swapping it. Mostly after a coupla hours of solid riding
The bars could use a liitle more pullback again doesnt really bother me for the first coupla hours
But then again ive never ridden a stock bike that couldnt use some dialing in of the ergos

I wouldnt call it flickable but its a blast in the twisties. And does just fine riding the road braille while lane splitting

Engine smoothes out around 2500 rpm. Was getting over 45mpg before i started fiddling with the map
