Thumbs up HD Daymaker

Just put the Daymaker on my scoot yesterday. Got a good deal on it and figured it would be good to have on my trip to north Idaho in a week. I can't believe the improvement. I was skeptical how much light would be able to come out of the 5 3/4 bucket, especially because the stock light sucks so bad, but I was honestly blown away when I took it for a ride last night. It literally washes out other cars high beams when you pass them, and every time I passed pedestrians, they all covered their eyes.
Expensive? Yes. Worth every penny? Absolutely. I've never been able to ride comfortably in the dark until now. Highly recommend to everyone especially those who ride on unlit roads or those that live in deer country.

Old. I didn't even know about the new model until after I put it in. Probably why I got such a good deal. From what I see, the new one adds two bulbs to the high beams. I'm really happy with it because I ride with the low beams on 90 percent of the time anyway. If the new one is even brighter, it makes it an even better reason to get one.

Coeur d Alene. It's my hometown. Been stationed in San Diego the past three years and I'm headed to Japan for the next three.

I got mine 2 weeks ago for my birthday and with the points, it was half price. I just found out about the "new and improved" on yesterday but reading about it, I don't feel cheated. But, if I didn't have mine, I'd get the new one since it's the same price.

I rode at night with it the other day and was very happy. The stock one just lit up right in front of the bike, about 15' or so, with yellow light. The LED was at least 30' or more with white light. No one flashed their lights at me, like it was too bright, so it wasn't shinning up in the sky. So, I might be able to raise it some, to make it shine even farther. I haven't ridden it on an unlit road yet but I'm anxious to see it.

The unlit road is where it really "shines." I was happy with it on normal roads, but completely blown away when I took it on an unlit road here on base. Instead of focusing on a little patch of yellow light 20 feet ahead of my bike, I could literally see the entire road and put my focus just as far ahead as I do when I ride in the day. For a street legal 5 3/4 inch motorcycle light, I couldn't be happier.

Bright is almost always better. I would like to get one but am concerned that in the fog it might be a whitewash. Please post on how they do in a foggy conditions.

Will do. Living right on the coast, it shouldn't be too long
