The new seat offers a seat position that is at least 3 inches further forward as can easily be seen by comparing the 2013/ 14 seats in relation to the top shock mount stud on the frame. If you are tall, the new seat will not be as comfortable as the previous one. Additionally, the new seat looks more narrow.
It's interesting that we did a comparison of the 2 seats, at the dealer, about a week ago. After careful comparison and consideration, the result was that the new seat was not the improvement that it may have, at first, seemed.

I actually ended up getting one and fit it on my bike before this riding season. I must be not be in the norm but I love the difference of this seat.
Im 5.10 with a 32" inseam. I actually find that because I sit further forward now, the intake on the side hardly hits my knee. Also, at high speeds I find myself having to put more pressure on my feet to keep them on the forward pegs. Now my legs are more bent and relaxed than straight.
The other thing I noticed is how cushioned the seat is. Super comfortable over bumps. I have found a couple different sitting positions too based on how I want to lean on the backrest. Its definitely less straining on my lower back now too compared to the 13 seat.
Having owned the older model and now a 2014, I can say that the seat is one of my favorite parts. I don't see a need to change it at all....and I like the way it looks, too.
