I am thinking of getting a new seat from Ultimate seats for my 2006 CVO Ultra, I like the looks and fit of the stock seat, I just put on a Air Zepplin seat but it is too high for my 30" inseam, I would give up style for comfort but I would like to hear from some owners of this seat.
Thanks, Stan

I have had The Ultimate seat on my 2005 RK, my VTX 1800 and my E/glide. You won't buy a better seat, front or rear. They are not water proof and breathe, eliminate skin stretch, They are designed to set you into the bike and not on the bike. They have a 10 day return policy, but it is unlikely they get any back. I do advise that you don't buy the logo's or color stitching etc. It will limit your buyers if you decide to sell/trade your bike. They are also a good looking well made seat. It is one of my first mods when getting a new bike. I have resold all 3 seats within days of posting them in classified's, when I sell my bikes. They have been a staple in the metric world for years and never been in high demand in the Harley world. I don't know why.

I had the Ultimate "Big Boy" seat on a Valkyrie for 10 years, and it gave me all day riding comfort. That model did raise me up and inch, so you might want to check with Ultimate first. Quality, fit, and finish was excellent. After 10 years and 65,000 miles, it still looked and felt almost like new.
2 weeks ago my buddy and wife rode up from Florida to visit the wife and I in NC on their new CVO Road Glide. On the way they stopped to pick up an Ultimate and were sure to make in back within the 10 day tryout period to return it. To each their own I guess.
Thanks for the replies so far. I do like the fact that they have a return policy that seems fair. I will be removing my Zepplin and re-installing my stick seat as I am afraid of becoming a victim of that parking lot pebble while backing up, I will probably put the Zep up for sale, and await more replies from owners.
Thanks, Stan
They are very comfortable high quality seats, but unfortunately the seating position didn't work for me. I tried 2 of their seats prior to going to Sturgis and ended up sending them both back. They are great seats and I wish it had fit me better. I'm 6' even with a 32" inseam, but I just couldn't get past the seating position. Based on your 30" inseam, it may work very well for you.
I tried the mid-rider version on my 13 RG first, and it just pushed me way too far forward. By the end of a 100 mile ride I was very uncomfortable. My tail end was fine - the seat just had me all crammed up against the tank.
After that I tried the tallboy version - it is supposed to move you back 1.5" from the stock seating position. It was better than the midrider, but still had me far enough forward that I couldn't stay comfortable on the long haul and returned it as well. According to their service folks, the 1.5" is actually measured at the top of the vertical section of the seat, the actual sitting area of the seat is only about a 3/8" difference from their midrider seat, which is advertised as the same position as a stock seat. I asked if they could modify the seat to move it back and they said they can't do that.
The seats were very comfortable and well made and felt the same height as the stock seat. For a larger comfortable seat it actually looked pretty good on the bike too. If it moved me back some I would have definitely kept it. Their customer service was very easy to work with - returning the seats was easy, no grief at all and they refunded the money (minus shipping) promptly when the seat was returned.

Thanks for the reply with your experience , it seems as though there quality is very good from most responses , I guess there is only one real way to know if it will fit me and it is fair on their part to refund all money except for shipping.
Thanks, Stan
I had one on my VTX1800 and loved it. 600+ mile days were no problem. Bought one for my 12 Ultra and am not impressed. It's at Mean City Cycles for another rework. First time through was good for about 300 miles and then I started to really feel the hotspots. No improvement over stock Ultimate at all. Allen says he can make it right so we'll see. I should have it back in a week or so.
