Default Clank and Bounce/Jump ?

Whats going on everyone,

I have researched this, looked through the manual, even had some friends look at it. Here is the problem....whenever I am cruising and i let off the throttle all the way and then hit the throttle it makes a metal on metal clank, any speed, i just let off all the way and get back on it and it clanks. any thoughts? S#!$ drives me crazy.

Second, it feels that when i hit bumps that my motor/tranny are jumping off of the damn bike.

Ok so the bike is a 2012 Dyna SB
Usually stuff, A/C, full exhaust, tuner
burly slammers

Any ideas ?

Might want to check the tightness of all your motor mount bolts too. Also check the mounts for signs of failure. Don't forget the one under the gas tank.

My first guess would be to check the fuel tank bolts, just put a wrench on and see. Then I would look at the motor mounts, especially the front.

Steer Stem Fall away, properly setup fork preload and oil, fuel tank bolts, and motor mount bolts. I also found that the stock drove compensator was crap and the SE version tightened it up as well.

All of these things will transform your bike into a solid ride.

Ok extra info, it has 7000 miles and for about a week I had shocks that to short and I bottomed out everywhere.

Second do you really have to adjust the primary chain even with the auto adjuster?

I had a clank on my SB a few years back and it was the tank bolts. They had loosened up and under acceleration or bumps in the road the tank would bounce a little and make that clank sound when it hit the backbone of the frame.

Sounds like the front and rear motor mouns are a good place to check.
