Default Demon's Cycle? lol

So, I wanted to try a set of t-bars on my SG. I'm not sure I'll like them, so I don't want to spend a bunch. I grab a set of 8"chrome ones from ebay -Demon's Cycle. I'm guessing the quality isn't great based on the $68, price, but what the heck...

What a joke, I tried to run the OEM mounting bolts in, one only goes in about 1/2" and binds up, the other only a couple threads. OK, so I chase out the threads with a 1/2"-13 tap, good to go. Mount 'em up, the left grip is about 1 1/2" farther forward than the right. Look closer, and realize the one riser tube is welded on a slightly crooked! Pull it back off, clamp in vise, and CAREFULLY tweak the riser back into position. No chrome cracks --cool.
I decided not to run the wires inside yet, in case I end up pulling them off.

I emailed Demon's thru ebay to let them know the issues I had (not asking for replacment or anything). They ask what bolts I used, I tell them the OEM bolts, they say that's what i did wrong, I was supposed to use fine thread bolts. WTF? who puts fine threads on risers? I call BS- I would not have gotten the one bolt in that far if they were fine thread.
I got the bars installed, I don't really care, but I'm trying to get my point across to them.

On a side note, the bars moved my hands up about 4" and forward about 4" from my previous bars, which were the stockers on 4" risers. I was surprised how much more aggressive the bike feels now.

As an added bonus, with these 8" t-bars, you can swap the left & right mirrors and put them under the bars, and they still clear the tank by about 1/2". (had to move the mirrors to clear the batwing fairing).

Ken

***EDIT***: I should probably say, it wasn't my intention to bash Demon's Cycle, there product is priced low, and my expectations were as such. I just wanted to share my experience, and let others be aware to check bolt size, etc. when doing a swap like this. Don't assume like I did.

Geez, they look great, but given the shoddy workmanship during manufacture I wouldn't leave them on long. Now that you know you like the look & feel swap 'em out again with a better quality brand.

1/2-20 riser bolts are pretty common, if you "chased" them out to 1/2-13, no way you have full threads...hope they stay on.

I don't know how Demons is still in business...their customer service is terrible and craftmanship is worse.
