Default Am I the only one?

Got tired of rounding out Torx head bolts and started changing them out for stainless Allen head, am I asking for more problems? I'm worried about the bolts galding. Anyone else tried this? Really frustrated with these Torx bolts.

Been replacing Torx w/Allen heads since they started using them. Even if you use Snap-On Torx bits the head on most Torx bolts are so soft they eventually round out. Just my experience with them, but I think you are on the right track.

Torx head bolts blow a big one. I'm slowly phasing all mine out to stainless allen head as well.

Is there any reason they went torx? It's annoying as hell. I just don't get it.

The only thing I can think of is they were cheaper to source.

I was told torx gained popularity because it was easier to use during the automation assembly process. I'd take a Allen over a torx anyday

I've fount that as long as I use the correct size torx bit I'm fine. Sometimes two of them are very close but one will fit perfect.

I use a hand impact driver to loosen torx bolts. While that works well, I`m also changing to stainless allen bolts for the reasons mentioned. This is especially true for my expensive aftermarket derby cover (POW "Bring Them Home of Send Us Back") that I don`t wish to see buggered by a cheap assed torx bolt.
