I'm running forwards with mids. I rarely use the mids- on a cold morning on the highway is a good opportunity. Around town, I'm more comfy with the forwards.
I have done this before. I have my mid-mount pegs after having forwards installed on my bike when new. I have put them on thinking the same thing, but I never used them & they were just in the way so I took them off & just use the forwards.
Blue Angel,
Thanks muchly for the pics. That looks great. Your pegs look small, almost like shift pegs.
Do you ever bang your ankle at a stop? Do you ever ride in town with the pegs down? This will be mostly for long highway days, but my main concern is the midmount pegs interfering at a stop, or backing up while on the bike. Since there were no comments about that I am going to assume it is a non-issue.

I did it on my Fat Bob and am very happy I did. I love the forwards and would feel too bunched up with having to use mids or floorboards all the time, but it's comfortable to have options on a longer ride.
However, if I had to do it all over again, I'd stay with the stock mids and add highway pegs.
That's exactly what I'm doing. Lucky I kept my mids. Just had joe the powder pro black'em out and will be switching back to mids with highway pegs this winter.
