"Racing" is a state of mind. Sometimes racers don't really push their scooters. Sometimes they do. About 4 to 5K on a rear pretty much says it all about your style of riding. It doesn't mean you are fast, or good.

It just means you are rough on your scooter.

I have put 12,500 miles on my stock Michelin scorchers and it looks like I can get at least another 3-4,000 out of the rear which I think is pretty impressive. However my front looks like it will probably need to be changed at about the same time. I have been pretty happy with them.

I just replaced my rear Dunlop D402 170 with a Michelin Commander. The Dunlop was corded but I got 17,432 miles out of it. I did a lot of 86 mile round trips to work and back on that tire. I read on here all the time on how shitty Dunlops are.If I get half of that out of the Michelin I'll be happy. The only reason I bought the Michelin was I got a screaming deal on it....$50.00. It is a take off from a 2012 St. Bob that the guy had the wide tire kit installed at his 500 mile service. When it wears out I'm back to the same Dunlop I had.

"Take off pretty quick" is the reason you are going through rear tires.

Sorry, can't help on that one as I was at the end of a front-and-rear cycle when I changed over and
did both tires. I do find the rear tire to be a bit noisier when leaning a bit like while changing lanes or
compensating for cross winds. I first noticed this about halfway through a 4,200 mile trip and for a
while I was nervous that I had a rear bearing starting to go. It's not loud, just a hum when you're mostly
on the side tread.. doesn't happen when straight up.

It's just road noise but I hadn't noticed it until I had about 3,000 miles on the rear. That's the only "odd"
thing I've noticed and they seem to handle a bit sharper than the Dung-Flops.

I think the extra price seems well worth it..

I have 15,800 on my Dunlops. And neither one looks anywhere near used up. In fact the rear looks new. Apparently some of us aren't too rough on our tires.

Do check tire pressure . My tires seem to lose air awfully fast. Could change the mileage you get on your tires.

2 to 1 may be normal wearing but with no mileage mentioned is it normal?
I mean if he is getting 10,000 out of a front then he is getting 5,000 out of the rear. Is that normal. Just saying.
I don't keep up with mileage on my bikes tires. When I need one I get one. I have too many bikes to keep up with tire mileage.
Wait til you get several bikes and they all need tires at the same time.
It has only happened once but they did give me a bulk discount. 5 tires at once. Ouch.
I dunno know if 2 to 1 is normal. I have put 3 rear tires on our wide glide and still do not need a front. That is at 14,000 miles. The third is new for now. LOL

Well, I just ordered some Michelin commander IIs. So I'll see if they last longer. All the reviews were pretty good.
