If you go the LED strip route on your rear fender like in my avatar pic, do not exceed the flat part of the fender in your measurement. If the fende is 8" on the flat and then radius into the corner, us the 8" only. I do believe the end caps are .5" on each side of the housing, so your strip would be 7" or less. I believe they measure .6" for every 5 LEDs in the strip. so it would be 25 LED to each side, 50 total for a measurement of 6" plus the 1" (.5" each end cap) = 7" or 30 LED to each side for a total of 60 LED at 7.2" plus 1" (.5" each end cap) = 8.2". Hope that helps.

but is it two differnt pieces on the rear of the bike?

One strip one on each bag (I believe they are the 5.7" TrueFlex strip with red LED's in a smoked lens) and one strip with two sets of LEDs in the housing (TrueFlex "custom intergrated 2 section".) The two on the saddle bags have a red and black wire and the one on the plate has a black, purple and brown wire). I have the one dual converter wire to one saddle bag and one side of the plate light, another dual converter wired to the other side. After adding my tumbstone tail light, I unplugged the blue wire used to make the LED's have a run function, so they currently are either off, turn or stop only.
