Default Another jack thread! Just a quick question

Read a lot about the red sears mod but is this jack any better? and can this be modded as well? Does anybody have this one with any input? I have a 2011 FXDB

That one is a different style jack and looking at the pictures I would have to say no the mod will not work. You need to get the width of the pads to see if it is wide enough to work on your frame. The red jack was to narrow that is why they started to mod them and put the pads on the outside. I did the mod on mine but I am not sure what the width is and I am working the late shift tonight so I can not take any measurements until tomorrow night as I have to be back for first shift in the morning.....

If you can swing the cost, a J&S lift fits a Dyna right out of the box.
No tweeking.....no modifications....it fits.

Bottom line.....you will not find a better lift.
I have one....it is rock solid steady.

How wide do the pads have to sit in order to fit a dyna? I guess the best measurement that counts is between the inside edges of the pads.

You cannot modify that one. Just get the red and do the modification and done with it. Just make sure you use a 1/2" "GRADE 8" bolts.

Not sure who your asking but the J&S jack lift is 13 3/8th inch, pad inside to pad inside.

Yes this J&S jack fits right out of the box. But for $399 plus $70 shipping, it's just not justifiable for me. Especially if I can buy a Craftsman for $84.00 plus less than $20 nuts and bolts. Did I mention that it is pretty solid as well.

I don't have any experience with the Craftsman jack. I do have the Kobalt 3/4 ton motorcycle and atv lift I got from Lowes. It works perfectly with my 2013 Super Glide.
