BTW, the spec for that nut is 104ft lbs. It's pretty hard to hit 104 without a hefty, long handled torque wrench. If you don't already have one, Sears has a nice one for under $70. I bought mine just for that nut. When I had an axle mounted side plate, the little c-clip wouldn't fit with the supplied nut, so I got a habit of checking it every time I checked tire pressure. Now I just do it with the other critical fasteners when I change the oil.
I think you are little off. My manual says 60-65 ft-lbs.
Here is the warning.
Do not exceed 65 ft-lbs when tightening the axle nut. Exceeding 65 ft-lbs may cause the wheel bearings to seize during vehical operation, which could result in death or serious injury. Blah blah blah.

Mine (2013) says 95-105 ft-lbs, page 2-21, same warning. I wonder what year it changed.
'08 states 95-105ft/lbs. I think at this point you need to perform the vehicle alignment procedure in the manual.. or at least make sure your rear wheel is centered.
Need to remember: the swing is mounted to the transmission, which is bolted to a rubber mounted engine. These dyna's eat front motor mounts, and dribbling oil on the rubber when changing oil, does not help the matter.
I'll wager your front motor mount is toast.. ie: vibration and undue 'wiggling'.... although the loose rear axle did you no favors.
Front AND rear motor mounts blown out. Replaced and riding on rails again.
I assume the vibes on the frame some how drove the rear axle out and loosened the nut.
I ordered a set from surdyke and plan on replacing mine soon too, mostly because of vibes that have slowly gotten worse in the past few thousand miles. I haven't had any wobbles though...didn't know that was a symptom. Do you have a Sputhe or Trutrac?
No true track or sputhe, but yeah heavy vibes and shitty handling are symptoms, especially if it's front and back mounts. Basically you lean left and th rmotor can bounce or vibrate any direction it wants so it can work against you or with you.
My bike is still smooth, but since reading all of the vibration posts in the past few months I decided to take a look at my front mount. It has about 1/8"+ of clearance & doesn't appear to be sagging at all.
If a vibration develops in the future, I know the first place I'll be looking though...sounds like it's just a matter of time on all Dynas.
