The Dyna is the best Harley, by far, that I have ridden. Life's a bitch when it comes to what we ride...The Slim guys have a totally different attitude... tp
I had the same problem when I saw the Breakout. Five months after I got mine, I found out what mine was worth and what the Breakout payments would be. That ended that dream right there.
Thanks for the info. If my lottery number hadn't been 254, I would have been right there with you in Nam. Thanks for your service and God bless all veterans this and every day... tomp
Rootro, I do understand that. I had an early model Street Glide that hated curves. Have heard that the ones since 08 are so much better. My '05 Heritage never felt right either. Are the new Slims better than the Heritage. If not, am I just wasting my time, wanting?
I have a 13 SG, I think it handles fine, for a touring model. Not sure how the slim handles, but you might want to test ride it.

+1...unfortunatly the same thing happened to me...
I had similar thoughts this summer & fall....kept thinking I wanted to trade my FXDC in for a new Road King. Still love the idea of having a Road King, but I just love my Dyna too much to part with her. Decided to not do the trade and just do some more stuff to my Dyna.
I agree that the Slim is one of the best looking bikes in the HD lineup. I have ridden one, and they are a nice bike, but like any Softail, it doesn't corner and handle near like a Dyna.
In a dream world, I would own my FXDC, a Road King, a Slim & a 48, but since I have yet to win the lottery I can only afford one bike....& I'm glad it's my Dyna.
I'm with you on the "Slim" but also know that it will NOT do good in the curves as that is why I got rid of my softail deluxe. Beautiful bikes but the way I like to ride, it just doesn't make the cut.
In my opinion, the Slim is the best looking bike in the current line-up. It also has a lot of mod potential in several different styles. Personally, I love the '40s police or military look. The Slim is perfect for that purpose.
IMO, rent one for a day if you can to make sure this is what you want to do...I traded my Street Bob about 14 months ago for a new Heritage and I like it but I am missing my '09 Street Bob.
I've been thinkin' about trading the Heritage for a new Street Bob lol, but it won't happen. The Heritage is a more comfortable ride, but I notice the extra weight and the B motor is smooth at lower rpms but a bit buzzy at higher rpms.
Buddy of mine has a stage 4 slim. That thing is pretty damn sweet. At the end of the day, you gotta do what makes you happy. No one else can be happy on their dyna for you.
