Any chance the softail custom makes a comeback? Like the breakout but there is just something about that custom I cant get out of my mind. They are getting hard to find in my part of the country.
Yeah, the Custom was a clean looking bike with the 60s chopper look. I think the Dyna Wide Glide took some sales from it, but I still like the Softail better. They have come & gone, then come back, & had some variations of it in the past, so maybe the MoCo will bring it back again. They should for no other reason that, along with the Evo Engine, it was one of the models that "saved" H-D!
I'm thinking a NightTrain comeback--they wouldn't even last on the floor for more than a few minutes.
But, If they do, I'm sure they'll ruin it like they did the WideGlide in '06. Put that stupid bobbed rear fender that's on half their models on it instead of that beautiful, sexy ducktail.
It's what I wanted when I started shopping for a Harley but didn't find one before I came across a good steal on a 1200C Sportster. Still keeping my eye open and may trade up one day.
I really liked the styling of the Custom until I sat on one a few years ago. Bike was heavy to lift of the stand and the bars/forks kept wanting to fall to either side instead of staying centered. I guess the geometry of the front end, along with the skinny tire was why. But it just seemed so heavy compared to it's look.
