Ok. So I ordered a 2014 FXDF which will be waiting for me in april/may ( whenever the ridingseason starts up here ).
I live in the northern part of norway in a small city ( 50 000 people ). We do NOT have a Harley dealer here. The dealer I ordered mine from is in a very small village 4 hours drive from here, and they don't have a dyno bench. The closest Harley-dealer with a bench is like a 12-14 hours drive away.
So... I ordered my bike with K&N filter, D&D exhaust and a powervision. I wanna have them put in a set of SE204's aswell, but will the Autotune basic of the Powervision be able to handle this?
I know I should get it duno-tuned, but thats not an option, at least not right away. So am I better of not getting the SE cams? Is it really a noticible difference between stock and the 204's? Or is it all in your heads?
PS! I've ridden my FLSTSB for four seasons now. K&N filter V&H Competition-series exhaust and a PCV with autotune. It was never dynoed, but ran close to perfect with the help of the Autotune, stock cams though....
The trouble with most tuning systems and tuners is that they don't know what to do with cams. They tend to do a reasonable job of fueling but timing is just not touched.
Your problem will be that SE204s have 8° of timing built into them and need a specific timing map to cope with this, otherwise your timing will be retarded by between 4° and 8° across the piece, leading to a significant loss of power, rather than the power gain you were looking for.
Considering you are a long way from support, I'd go with a SEPST instead. You can then put the canned map on for SE204s plus open air cleaner and exhaust. You will be 95% of the way there and you can finish it of with some Smart tuning if you like.
You can call or e-mail fuel moto and they will send the tune close to your need .
(Dealer should have this done already) Then the Auto Tune will take care of the rest .
It will work just fine and any problems just e-mail Fuel Moto .
Better get some good advice from some forum guys i have a 2014 flhtk and it dont need them it has the stage 1 kit and makes 94 ponies on the dyno.
Methinks your dyno guy had his finger on the scales there. Stock they have been dynoed at 76HP by Fuel Moto. Stage-1 adds 10%, so typical would be around 84HP. Pretty unlikely you are going to find another 10HP without cams.
Yeah as I said. Im buying the Powervision through my dealer. I'm picking the bike up With AC and pipes installed, and driving it home. So they're gonna Mount the PV before I ger there.
So I don't know how helpful Fuelmoto is gonna be. They're just a normal distributor of Dynojet Products right?
I could wait With the cams 'till I og on a longer trip this summer, I just wantet the extra umpfh from the getgo.
So how big is the actuall difference With the cams. Not asking for dyno-numbers here.
why do you have to buy the powervision from your dealer? just get it from fuel moto. the extra shipping/tax is worth having the correct tune, IMHO.
btw, the PV is just plugged into the diagnostic connector, it's a 30 seconds job if you take your time and don't need a dealer to plug the pv into a connector.

Please chime in.....
You should be fine with the PV. DynoJet should have a base map that will get you close, and the PV will adjust the tune from there.
Why don't you use the autotune set-up you already have with the PV? The PV can use autotune...not sure if the cable will be the same. Check it out on the Dynojet web site.
