all ***** starter issue (maybe)
First off I apologize if this the wrong place to post this. I've searched and couldn't find the answer I need. My 01 lowrider ate the starter clutch on my factory starter so I ordered a 1.4kw all ***** starter,new 4g wires and a new 310cc agm battery from drag. My problem is it seems to start just fine but sometimes the pinion gear dosent retract all the way.I can hear it grind on the ring gear. I pulled the outter primary off and watched it. I don't know if its the starter itself or maybe its out of align. I tightened down the jackshaft and loosened the starter hoping it would move into place but still no good. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks. Jackshaft doesn't seem to tight. I will say tho that when its loose it does retract better but seems like that would be to loose. I have broken jack shafts by tightening to much so I usually go easy. Bushing looks like new. Actually it is new I forgot I replaced both primary's. I'm gonna take the starter off and open the holes up a little with a dremel and see if that helps
