How tall are you rock103? The 14" fits you nicely. I really like the 16" RSD King Apes, but at 5'9" I'm thinking they might be too tall.
Thanks bro! Im 6'1" and went with 14s after trying a few bars with a few different riser lengths. So the 16" total rise works for me. By rotating the bars forward and backward you can change the height also.

Hmm, I might still go with the RSD's. Thanks for the info
I have come to the conclusion that I like the apes as well. My only issue is I have never liked them on raked front ends. I actually wish I had bought a SB.
I like the rake, but thats me. And apes seem natural on a Wide Glide to me. Even though I always liked drag bars. But getting the aches that come with age I guess. lol
I agree with the aches. IDK just for some reason I like the lines of the SB with the apes over the WG with the apes. I had actually thought about swapping frames and haveing a custome SB.
Bike is looking great rock. The bars look really good. I knew you would like the apes over the drags.

I had the same idea about swapping frames. I just cant justify the $2000+ for a new frame. I like the look of my wide glide but I wish it handled better. If I had to do it again I think I would've went with the SB as well.
I figure I'll look for a used SB later down the road and build that or go in a completely different direction and get a supermoto and use the WG for cruising.

SuperMoto is the most fun you can have with your clothes on. I wish I would have kept mine.
Wide Glides are cool, so don't nobody accuse me of blasphemy. However a bigger tire on the front will improve handling by a great deal. You can't overcome the rake effect entirely (A Fat Bob tree can cut some of the rake) but you can achieve a better balance of front and rear tire interaction.
Lowering both ends will improve your COG and make the handling better (until the hard parts touch.)
Still, a WG is what it is. A badass raked Dyna. The handling limitations are offset by the stability of a long wheelbase.

I like the way you think SLV. I was actually eyeballing the Duke 690. Not a true sumo but I think it is a badass ride.
I will be getting different rims and a larger tire for mine later down the road. Cant lower it because I already scrape when riding now. You said it best when you said the WG is what it is. Basically I need a second bike, lol.
