Default Stock IPB or...?

I'm getting rid of my forward controls and installing mid controls on my 09 FXDF. So far I have purchased all the parts I need with the exception of the Inner Primary Bearing.

I've already had the case apart and there was no indication of the IPB being worn out in any way (that was at 15K miles). I also am aware that the new cases have the dowels, so less movement of the case means less wear.

I am thinking of ordering the All ***** Inner Primary Bearing Upgrade http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...:B:WNA:US:3160
but I really have no idea if there is a better option or if I even need to upgrade. It's not a matter of money, as the stock bearing is $15 and the all ***** is $28...

The only other choice I can find is the Drag Specialties Hi Performance Inner Primary Bearing Seal Kit
http://www.ebay.com/itm/310804485513...84.m1423.l2649
That part is $42. $15 to $28 no questions. $15 to $42 begs the question... is it necessary?

I just wondered if anyone else had replaced this part in an 07 up Dyna and if there are other options, or if it really matters at all.

Peace

In my opinion. .that All ***** 'upgrade' looks like the exact same bearing you have now. I don't understand how it could be any better. Everything I've read has indicated that the stock bearing is the best you can do with our bike with low failure rates assuming everything is installed and working properly (No free play in mainshaft, for example).

All ***** doesn't make bearings. They spec them out to China or whoever to make them. I'd stick with the HD bearing.

Edit to add: I just replaced my bearing for 'good measure' on my '09 with 20k miles. Waste of money really, the old one looked brand new.

When I checked last summer Baker still wasn't making an IPB replacement for '08 and up, though they did say that they were thinking about it. The big advantage to the Baker IPB for '06s was the change to a one piece bearing, getting rid of the HD bearing race that was walking on the main shaft.
